Performance

An SAP system must be tuned to perform even under its heaviest load. Mandant has been tuning SAP systems since R/3 2.1x, and our consultants on average have been tuning systems for more than 10 years. It’s important to tune not just the SAP platform and database, but also the application components. That’s why our performance consultants aren’t just certified Basis Consultants; more often than not they’re also developers who are equally happy tuning ABAP components.

System Copy & Migration

Whether it’s a straightforward copy to create a test, demo or training system, or a complex hetrogenous platform migration, Mandant can do it. We’ve been performing system copies since R/3 2.1x, and we’ve successfully migrated systems between most of the major and more obscure operating systems and database combinations. All of Mandant’s senior Basis Consultants are fully SAP certified, including for OS/DB migrations, many of them having worked in SAP AG’s software factory.

System Management

We’ve been involved with the systems management of some of the UK’s largest SAP systems, and have developed our own best practices. We’re happy to share these with you. We don’t just take direct care of our own customers’ systems. We’re often engaged by a customer to audit the management capabilities of other Consultancies or SAP partners.

Hardware Sizing

SAP offers a cost-effective sizing model to determine the hardware requirements of an SAP System, taking into account application, user and data load. Although this model is good, it’s also very generic and can’t provide all the answers: only Mandant’s real-world experience can help.

SAP’s sizing tools also don’t necessarily have accurate sizing models for all of the key components needed with today’s NetWeaver landscape. A good example of this would Exchange Infrastructure adapter engines. Here again there’s no substitution for experience, and nobody in the UK has more XI experience than Mandant. We never aim to replace SAP or the hardware partners’ sizing tools, but typically we’ll audit or review their recommendations.

High Availability

Mandant has implemented and built SAP systems based on all of the popular high-availability platforms, including solutions from Microsoft, HP, IBM and Sun. As well as considering the hardware issues, we understand how to ensure that the whole SAP solution is built for high availability with best practices, support and human resources.

Security

SAP NetWeaver delivers comprehensive security technologies to protect the heterogeneous environments of the SAP Business Suite, to create a secure place to do business.

It includes:

• Secure Collaboration, comprising Trust Management, SSL and digital certificates
• Secure User Access Authentication, which covers centralised Identity Management and Single Sign-On
• Infrastructure Security Network and Communications Security components, which enable systems to communicate securely

Mandant understands these elements and can offer advice and assistance in designing and implementing all aspects of it.

Software Change Management

After installation, an SAP application component is enhanced by custom development and integrated into existing scenarios. Change-management services organise and handle all changes made to a system landscape through development, testing/quality assurance and finally production.

With SAP NetWeaver components now being both ABAP and Java based, it’s not just a case of building systems with traditional ABAP-based software change-management. Mandant fully understands and is experienced in customising and developing solutions for SAP Java based components, including SAP Exchange Infrastructure (XI).

Solution Manager

SAP Solution Manager is a centralized solution management toolset that assists and enables the implementation, operation, monitoring, and support of SAP solutions. Mandant can help with planning, building, implementing and even hosting Solution Manager systems with varying levels of functionality based on your individual requirements.
